Medical Negligence

Cancer Misdiagnosis

Four in ten people will suffer from cancer at some time in their lives. However, it has been repeatedly shown that early diagnosis increases a person’s chance of recovery. Unfortunately, despite all the screening techniques available, a cancer diagnosis is sometimes negligently delayed or even misdiagnosed.

If there has been a delay in diagnosing cancer it does not mean you automatically have a successful claim, for example where the delay is a relatively short one, it may not be possible to bring a claim if it cannot be shown that the delay has resulted in a worse outcome, such as a reduced life expectancy or that the delay has denied an opportunity for less invasive treatment.

  • If you have been mis-diagnosed:

If you feel you doctor, clinic or test centre has delayed or misdiagnosed or ignored warning signs of cancer you should seek legal advice immediately so that your claim can be evaluated.
